2025 Roundup and a Look at the Year Ahead
January is a great time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished over the past 12 months, and what we hope to achieve in the coming year. As we head into 2026, here are some of our plans for the year ahead.
Our Brilliant Team

The team at John Delany Motors is the reason we are able to offer such a high level of service to our customers. Their care, attention to detail and professionalism are what makes us so successful, and how we have grown to a team of 23. That’s 23 dedicated professionals committed to giving you the best possible experience every time you visit us.
We pride ourselves on the loyalty and cohesion of our team- after all, this is a family business. One of our vehicle technicians, Steve, will celebrate 20 years with the garage this coming September, and we are very glad that retirement is not on his agenda just yet.
Our Garage
We have been operating since 1980 and growing ever since, and we are proud to say that John Delany Motors is the largest independent garage in Stockport. Remaining independent allows us to stay true to our core values, serving the Stockport community while offering high quality, competitively-priced services.
Thanks to steady growth and the loyalty of our customers, we have already extended our workshop twice in recent years. Looking ahead to 2026, we are planning another extension, increasing our storage capacity and helping us to service more customers with greater efficiency. We are also hoping to complete a roof raise in the not-too-distant future, allowing us to cater for more large vehicles with greater productivity.
Our Training and Progression
We continually review and audit our shared knowledge to ensure that every member of the John Delany Motors team is able to help all customers that come through our doors. This includes conducting our annual appraisals that assess training needs, customer service, compliance and practical expertise. Team feedback plays a vital role in how we operate, helping to shape the way we work together and support one another.
With new car models, system updates, emerging vehicle trends and new technology appearing every year, ongoing development is essential. We are proud to offer prestige vehicle servicing specialising in Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar which means staying proactive and fully up to date with the latest technologies. We do this by researching new equipment, keeping up with industry developments and investing time in continuous learning.
Part of our growing team includes a number of apprentices, and we are delighted to report that both Charlie and George have recently completed their apprenticeships and are now fully-qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technicians. Other apprentices, Izak and Joel, are nearing the end of their programmes, while Jack and Charlie M will be progressing onto Level 2 later this year. It’s an exciting time for us, as we get to see the growth and progression of our youngest team members, as well as teaching the next generation valuable life skills and a rewarding career for life.
Our Amazing Customers
In 2025, we expanded our business fleet services, welcoming even more fleets across Stockport and Greater Manchester. We offer routine servicing and inspections, Class 4 and Class 7 MOT testing, preventative maintenance, and repair services (amongst other things) to business fleets. After another busy year, we have taken time to reflect on what we do well and where we can improve. We are thrilled to maintain our 98% 5* rating on Google Reviews throughout 2025.
We are extremely proud of our customer satisfaction, and so grateful to our amazing customers who took the time to give us honest feedback. As we move in to 2026, our priority is to keep up the great work, continuing monitoring our progress as a garage and as individuals, and perhaps even push that 5* rating up to 99%!
