Brake Servicing & Repairs

Whether you have done 25,000 or 60,000 miles, different driving patterns have a dramatic effect on how often your brakes need servicing. It is vital that your brakes are kept in good working order. Driving with faulty brakes may not only put you at risk, but other road users and even pedestrians too.

If you’re unsure as to whether your brakes need servicing, there are a number of things to listen out for including grinding or squeaking sounds when you’re braking. Other tell-tale signs that your brakes need replacing include the feeling of your car pulling to one side when braking or feelings such as pulsating or sponginess on the brake pedal when applied. Some vehicles will illuminate a warning light when your brake pads or discs are due for replacement.

At John Delany Motors our technicians can carry out work on your entire braking system- including the replacement of standard parts such as pads, discs, shoes, cylinders, master cylinders, hoses, pipes, drums, calipers and fluid.

Brake pads should be replaced if the pad friction material has worn down to a thickness of 3 millimetres. Brake disc wear and thickness should also be measured, if they are at or below the manufacturer’s safe minimum thickness then they should be replaced.

We supply and fit all leading brands.
